Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in digital governance as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Public Service Delivery Platform, DASTAK, won the Winner Award at the APICTA ICT Awards 2025. The platform outperformed top innovations from 13 regional economies, including Chinese Taipei, Australia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh, and others.

This achievement marks Pakistan’s first victory in the Digital Government & Citizen Services category in 14 years. Since the inception of the APICTA Awards in 2001, this category has been dominated by countries with highly developed e-governance systems. DASTAK’s win highlights Pakistan’s growing capabilities and KP’s emerging leadership in public-sector digital transformation.

APICTA uses a rigorous multi-jury evaluation process involving global ICT professionals and governance experts. Solutions are judged on their ability to solve governance challenges, adopt advanced technologies like AI and automation, save citizens’ time, reduce corruption, and maintain strong security, scalability, and institutional resilience.

DASTAK excelled across these criteria through its citizen-centric service delivery model. The platform simplifies access to essential public services such as household registration, domicile issuance, tenant verification, and administrative requests—delivered directly to citizens’ doorsteps. By reducing human interaction, it minimizes delays and opportunities for corruption, aligning perfectly with modern digital governance standards.

Known as the “Oscars of ICT,” the APICTA Awards are among the most prestigious recognitions in the Asia-Pacific region. Winning this award places DASTAK among the most impactful and scalable digital governance solutions in the region.

Beyond the trophy, this achievement symbolizes a broader win for Pakistan’s digital future. It proves that provincial-level innovation can meet global standards. For KP—after years of digital reforms, e-governance initiatives, and citizen-focused innovations—the win validates its long-term strategy to modernize public service delivery.
