The anticipation for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 is reaching a fever pitch, with just a month left until the action begins. The recently revealed proposed schedule outlines a total of 34 matches set to take place in various cities, promising an exciting cricket season for fans.
Karachi is slated to host a substantial number of matches, with 11 games scheduled in the city. Lahore and Rawalpindi closely follow suit, each securing the hosting rights for nine matches, while Multan is gearing up to welcome five matches.
The participating teams, namely Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans are each granted the opportunity to play five matches on their home turf. Peshawar Zalmi has an intriguing lineup, featuring four games each in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Quetta Gladiators, on the other hand, face a busy schedule, playing three matches in each of the cities – Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

To ensure the well-being of the teams, organizers have thoughtfully incorporated 15 rest days into the schedule, allowing players ample time to recharge and recuperate. A major highlight of this season is the inclusion of night matches. Karachi Kings will be the focal point under the lights, participating in nine night games. Following closely are Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Multan Sultans, each with eight night matches. Peshawar Zalmi isn’t far behind, with seven night games on their agenda.
The proposed PSL 9 schedule kicks off with a match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United on February 17, 2024, in Lahore. The matches are spread across different venues, adding to the diversity of the cricketing experience.
Teams are expected to start assembling on February 12 for practice sessions, with matches commencing on February 13 and continuing until February 16. However, it’s essential to note that this schedule is provisional and subject to change. The final plan will be determined after discussions with the PSL franchises, ensuring a well-coordinated and successful tournament.
