Omar Hamid, the secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has tendered his resignation, citing health concerns. This unexpected development has triggered various inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his departure.

Reports from local media indicate that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan has yet to accept Omar Hamid’s resignation.

Despite having over 30 years of experience and being a senior official within the country’s premier electoral body, Omar Hamid recently faced health issues that led to his hospitalization. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at his residence.
