Punjab’s interim Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has once again postponed the enforcement of the proposed escalation in driving license fees.

Originally slated to take effect today, the planned fee hike has now been rescheduled for January 16, offering citizens a temporary respite. Chief Minister Naqvi underscored the importance of citizens utilizing this extended window to obtain their driving licenses at the current fee. He expressed concern over the increasing number of individuals driving without licenses, urging compliance with regulations before the revised deadline. Naqvi cautioned that failure to do so could lead to legal consequences, including potential imprisonment.

Recognizing the urgency, Chief Minister Naqvi issued a strong directive to relevant authorities to expedite the license issuance process. He highlighted the need to streamline procedures to ensure swift acquisition of licenses by citizens.

The additional time allows those who have not yet obtained their driving licenses to evade the impending fee increase.
