Google has recently introduced generative AI capabilities to its Maps platform, unveiling significant enhancements for Bard as well. One major update is the expansion of Bard’s use of Gemini Pro, Google’s new multimodal AI model, across all languages and regions where Bard is currently accessible. Previously, Gemini Pro integration for Bard was limited to the English language, providing improved capabilities in comprehension, reasoning, summarization, and coding.
Notably, Bard now has the ability to generate images, a feature currently available in English and accessible in “most countries around the world” at no cost to users. The image generation capability is powered by Google’s latest Imagen 2 model, designed to balance quality and speed, delivering high-quality and photorealistic results. Similar to other AI image generators, using Bard’s version is as simple as typing a few words as a description. Bard employs SynthID to embed digitally identifiable watermarks within the pixels of the generated images, ensuring transparency and indicating that they are AI-generated.

Additionally, users can cross-reference Bard’s responses with Google search results in over 40 languages by clicking on the G icon. When clicked, Bard will analyze whether there is web content validating its response. Users will receive highlighted phrases and have the opportunity to explore further details about corroborating or conflicting information uncovered through Google search.
