Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2024, all private schools in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab, have adjusted their timings. Starting from today, classes will commence at 7:30 am for all students. However, the closing hours will vary for primary, middle, and matric classes.
This adjustment comes in anticipation of Ramadan, with the aim to accommodate students who will be observing fasts during this sacred period. Additionally, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene a meeting this evening (Monday) to determine the sighting of the Ramadan moon.

Chaired by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the meeting will take place in Peshawar. It is anticipated that the holy month will commence in Pakistan on Tuesday, March 12.
The decision to amend school timings reflects a thoughtful consideration for the well-being and needs of students during Ramadan, allowing them to maintain their academic routine while fulfilling their religious obligations.
