A local court in Karachi has directed Pakistan Railways to pay over Rs. 10 million in damages, as per a report by a private news channel.

The court’s order pertains to compensating the family of Javed Iqbal, who lost his life in a train accident. The directive was issued under the Fatal Accidents Act 1855.

Following a tragic collision between the Millat and Sir Syed Express near Dharki, claiming over 50 lives, the heirs of Javed Iqbal approached the Karachi court seeking compensation for their loss.

In other news, ahead of Eidul Fitr, the national railways have announced the operation of multiple special trains. The inaugural Eid special train is scheduled to depart from Karachi to Peshawar on April 7th at 6 am.

Likewise, the second Eid special train will depart from Quetta to Rawalpindi at 10 am on the same day. Additionally, the third special train is set to leave Karachi Cantt for Lahore at 9 pm on April 8th.
