A joyous celebration for Liverpool Football Club fans turned tragic when a car rammed into a crowd on Water Street, injuring 27 people — including two in critical condition.

According to international media, emergency services rushed to the scene after a dark-colored vehicle, seen with a shattered rear window, swerved into the densely packed crowd. Disturbing footage circulated online shows the moment the car struck fans, with bystanders quickly attempting to rescue those trapped underneath and confront the driver. At one point, a person managed to open the vehicle’s door, but the driver slammed it shut and accelerated again into the crowd.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed 27 people were taken to nearby hospitals, while 20 others received treatment on-site for minor injuries. Among the critically injured is a child. Four individuals, including the child, were temporarily trapped under the vehicle before being rescued. A paramedic on a bicycle was also hit, though fortunately not seriously hurt.
