Developing a Semiconductor Zone in Pakistan with Chinese assistance – Fawad Chaudhry

I want to make Pakistan a hub for semiconductor manufacturing by attracting Chinese technology companies.

The former federal minister for science and technology in Pakistan was also a signatory to many Memoranda of Understandings and agreements about semiconductors technology and also collaborated with China on training Pakistanis to use semiconductors.

“We are also interested in starting semiconductor design operations in Pakistan.”.

I am delighted to inform you that Chinese investors are eager to do business with Pakistan, and the technology zone will be turned into a semiconductor zone,” he continued.

Furthermore, Fawad said that both countries could cooperate in a wide range of science and technology areas.

As well, he stated that mobile phones are already being assembled in Pakistan but they would like to take it one step further and start full-scale mobile phone manufacturing in Pakistan.

As a result of the prime minister’s China visit, many Chinese technology companies will come to Pakistan bringing value to local manufacturing products because semiconductors are a core component of all technologies.
