Minor Reduction in Petrol Price Announced

The federal government has reduced the petrol price by Re1 per litre for the next fortnight, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division on Friday. The new rates are based on international market fluctuations as assessed by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

New Fuel Prices Effective from March 29, 2025

As per the official notification:

  • Petrol price has been reduced by Re1 per litre, bringing it down to Rs. 254.63 per litre from Rs. 255.63 per litre.
  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD) remains unchanged at Rs. 258.64 per litre.

Impact on Consumers

Petrol is widely used in private transportation, including small vehicles, rickshaws, and motorcycles. The minor price reduction is expected to offer limited relief to middle and lower-middle-class households, who rely on petrol for daily commuting.
