Motorists in Pakistan may soon face another hike in fuel prices as global oil markets react to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. According to a report by Arif Habib Limited, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) prices could increase by up to Rs. 27 per liter, while Petrol (Motor Spirit) may rise by Rs. 21 per liter.

Should this occur, the revised rates would bring petrol to Rs. 279–280 per liter and high-speed diesel to Rs. 289–290 per liter, starting July 1, 2025.

The expected increase is linked to rising international oil prices, which have surged due to geopolitical instability. Since June 13, 2025, the global price of Gas Oil has jumped 9.6%, reaching USD 93.3/bbl, while Gasoline rose by 4.5% to USD 83.4/bbl as of June 20, 2025.

If current trends continue, Pakistani consumers should brace for higher transportation and production costs, adding further inflationary pressure to an already strained economy.
