In October, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro smartphones, generating anticipation for a potential high-end “Ultra” variant. Despite Xiaomi not confirming its existence officially, leaked hands-on images have surfaced, offering a glimpse into this mysterious device.

Captured during an early camera test and concealed within a protective case, the phone’s overall design remains undisclosed. Notably, a prominent camera bump is visible, featuring a periscope lens and situated on the lower right side. In the leaked images, individuals compare the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera to the regular Xiaomi 14 and Vivo’s flagship, the X100 Pro. Compared to the standard Xiaomi 14, the Ultra version exhibits a centrally aligned and larger main camera island, resembling the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s frame. Cryptic markings, labeled as “N1,” “P2,” and “EU,” provide subtle hints about the device.

“N1” aligns with the anticipated model number for the rumored Leica-branded flagship, likely confirming the device as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. “P2” suggests it is a prototype, emphasizing its developmental stage and potential for further refinement. The presence of “EU” in the markings suggests global ambitions, indicating Xiaomi’s intent to introduce the device to European markets.

Rumored specifications, shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, highlight the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s impressive features. The flagship smartphone is expected to excel in camera capabilities, boasting a powerful 50MP main sensor (Sony LYT 900) with Optical Image Stabilization and a variable aperture. The device is rumored to include three 50MP lenses—telephoto, periscope, and ultra-wide—ensuring a versatile photography experience. Speculations also point towards a titanium frame, replacing the regular 14 Pro’s aluminum frame.

Additional rumors suggest two-way satellite communication capabilities, enhancing connectivity in remote areas. To support these advanced features, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to house a substantial 5180 mAh battery, supporting 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is rumored to launch in April 2024 in China alongside the Pad 7 tablet series.
