The federal government has announced a revision in the prices of petroleum products for the upcoming fortnight. As per the latest notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 7.54 per liter, bringing it down to Rs. 264.61. In contrast, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs. 1.48 per liter, now standing at Rs. 285.83 per liter.

This follows the previous review, during which petrol saw a hike of Rs. 5.36 per liter to Rs. 272.15, and high-speed diesel rose by Rs. 11.37 per liter to Rs. 284.35. To put it in perspective, on June 1, petrol and diesel were priced at Rs. 253.63 and Rs. 254.64 per liter respectively. Since then, petrol prices increased by Rs. 18.52 per liter between June 1 and July 15, before this latest adjustment.

The new pricing will be in effect for the next two weeks and is part of the government’s regular petroleum price review based on international market trends and exchange rate fluctuations.
