In a key meeting focused on Pakistan’s rapidly expanding e-commerce sector, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja discussed major policy and taxation concerns impacting digital trade.

To streamline progress, Minister Jam Kamal Khan announced the formation of a joint working group in collaboration with the Ministry of IT. The group will develop concrete recommendations on e-commerce taxation, vendor compliance, and digital payment systems. These proposals will be submitted to the Prime Minister for review and decision.

The Minister also revealed that the updated eCommerce Policy 2.0 is currently in the final stages of internal review and will soon be presented to the federal cabinet for approval.

Both ministers reaffirmed their dedication to fostering a digitally inclusive and competitive trade environment. They pledged that sector-related challenges would be resolved with top-level government intervention.
