A troubling incident of digital robbery has been reported near Karachi airport, where a young man was abducted and forced to transfer thousands of dollars from his online account.
According to reports, the victim was traveling to the airport late at night when his ride was intercepted by armed individuals. The suspects, reportedly traveling in a double-cabin vehicle, stopped the car at a petrol station and forcibly took the victim at gunpoint.
The attackers held him captive for over an hour, during which they accessed his digital account and transferred approximately $8,600.

In addition to the digital theft, the assailants also stole his personal belongings, including a mobile phone and laptop, and subjected him to physical assault. After the incident, they abandoned him in Karachi’s Korangi area before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s family stated that despite the seriousness of the crime, a formal police complaint had not yet been registered at the time of reporting. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter as concerns grow over the rise of digital asset-related crimes in the city.
This incident highlights increasing risks associated with cryptocurrency and digital assets, especially when combined with physical crimes like abduction and robbery.
