The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has streamlined the process of obtaining Succession Certificates, offering greater ease and accessibility to citizens across Pakistan.

As per the latest notification, legal heirs can now apply for succession certificates at any of the 186 Succession Facilitation Units (SFUs) established at NADRA centers nationwide—including in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan—regardless of the location of the inherited property.

A major improvement has also been made to the biometric verification process. Heirs can now verify their identity at a nearby NADRA center or remotely through the Pak ID Mobile App, making the process more convenient than ever. Previously, applicants were restricted to filing in the province where the property was located—a hurdle for many living in other regions.

With this new development, NADRA has removed provincial limitations, allowing citizens to both initiate and complete the process from anywhere in the country.

A NADRA spokesperson confirmed that official instructions have been issued to all SFU-equipped centers, enabling the public to use the service at a location most suitable to them.

This move is expected to save time, reduce intercity travel, and make inheritance-related procedures simpler for thousands of Pakistani families.
