911 Emergency Helpline
Officials from the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) have confirmed that Pakistan is developing its first-ever centralized emergency helpline, aimed at unifying and streamlining emergency response services across the country—similar to the 911 system used in the United States.
NTC representatives revealed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has already signed an agreement to launch the new 911 emergency service in the province. Once operational, the system will ensure that any caller from anywhere in KP is automatically routed to the nearest emergency response center for faster and more efficient assistance.

Officials added that after the service successfully launches in KP, it will be expanded to other provinces in phases.
The centralized emergency helpline is expected to significantly reduce response times and enhance coordination between emergency agencies nationwide, marking a major step forward in Pakistan’s public safety infrastructure.
