Pakistan is likely to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, March 31, 2025, according to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council’s latest forecast.

Shawwal Moon Sighting Prediction

Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, stated that the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible across Pakistan on the evening of Sunday, March 30, provided that weather conditions are favorable.

Moon Visibility Criteria:

  • The new moon will be born on March 29 at 3:58 PM (Pakistan time).
  • By March 30 at sunset, the moon will be over 26 hours old, making it easily visible.
  • The minimum age for visibility is 18 hours, with at least 40 minutes between sunset and moonset—conditions that will be met in various parts of Pakistan.

Final Decision by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee

While the research council has provided its scientific prediction, the final decision will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, during its official meeting on March 30.
