The United States has reportedly advised Iran not to overreact to President Donald Trump’s aggressive public statements as behind-the-scenes negotiations, facilitated largely through Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, continue to gain momentum.

According to multiple international reports, American officials have used discreet communication channels to reassure Tehran that Trump’s social media posts and public remarks should not be viewed as a reflection of the actual tone of ongoing negotiations. The move comes as regional mediators, particularly Pakistan, intensify efforts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East crisis.

Pakistan has emerged as a central diplomatic player in the recent US-Iran engagement, with Islamabad hosting and facilitating several rounds of indirect communication between the two sides. Senior Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military leadership, have reportedly maintained active contact with both Washington and Tehran in an attempt to stabilize the fragile situation.

The negotiations are primarily focused on achieving a long-term ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz for global energy trade, and creating a broader framework for future discussions on sanctions and regional security. Sources familiar with the talks suggest that a draft understanding is being refined, although several sensitive issues remain unresolved.

Despite optimistic signals from Washington, Iranian officials continue to express caution. Tehran has repeatedly stated that it will not compromise on its core national interests and remains skeptical of American intentions due to years of mistrust and previous policy reversals.

President Trump, meanwhile, has sent mixed messages publicly, at times hinting at military action while also claiming that a peace framework is “largely negotiated.” These contrasting statements have reportedly complicated the diplomatic atmosphere, prompting US officials to privately clarify Washington’s actual position to Iranian negotiators.

Pakistan’s mediation role has received growing international attention, with analysts viewing Islamabad as a rare bridge between competing regional interests. Diplomatic observers believe continued Pakistani engagement could prove crucial in preventing another major confrontation in the Gulf region.
