The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has made history by registering the most expensive vehicle ever recorded in the province—an ultra-luxury SUV valued at Rs. 176 million.
According to Excise Director Shahid Gilani, the registration fee alone totaled Rs. 94.41 million, setting a new departmental record for the highest registration fee ever collected.
The previous record was set in 2023, when the department registered the top variant of a Range Rover, collecting Rs. 9.11 million in registration charges—an amount many noted was equivalent to the cost of an entire compact SUV in the local market.

The high-end vehicle was registered by Ahmed Waqas, a resident of Gujranwala, who also opted for a custom number plate: AWA-089.
Officials further reported that the Motor Branch Lahore remains the top revenue-generating office in the province, having collected over Rs. 5 billion in just the first two months of the current fiscal year.
This milestone reflects a growing trend of luxury vehicle ownership in Pakistan, particularly among high-net-worth individuals willing to invest in exclusive and high-value automobiles.
