Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH), Pakistan’s dedicated cancer hospital founded by Imran Khan, has confirmed that a small number of its bank accounts have been temporarily frozen, resulting in a minor disruption to its financial operations.
In a public statement, hospital officials were quick to reassure the public and its donors that the vast majority of its financial accounts remain fully operational. This means that the hospital is still actively receiving donations without any interruption.

Hospital administration emphasized that this unexpected hurdle affects only a few accounts and is currently being addressed with optimism that the temporary restrictions will be lifted shortly. Critically, the administration confirmed that all vital services—including patient care and treatment—continue without any disruption.
The hospital extended its gratitude to donors for their unwavering trust as it continues its mission of providing free cancer treatment to over 75% of its patients nationwide. The report notes this financial restriction comes amid escalating political tensions, including recent protests and arrests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders demanding access to their incarcerated party chief, Imran Khan.
