The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a weather outlook ahead of the Basant Festival 2026 in Lahore, with conditions set to be largely favorable for kite-flying and outdoor celebrations. The forecast predicts mainly dry weather with clear skies on February 6 and 7, and continued dry conditions with occasional clouds on February 8. Light westerly to northwesterly winds, averaging about 10–15 km/h, are expected to prevail, offering generally suitable wind conditions for kite flying.

PMD also advised participants in the festivities to stay cautious by avoiding flying kites near power lines and maintaining vigilance around open roads to minimize accident risks.
