Oppo has officially confirmed its plans to incorporate the newly unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset into its upcoming flagship devices, dispelling previous rumors. The Find X8 series, which includes the X8 and X8 Pro models, will be powered by this advanced processor, with a launch event scheduled for October 24 in China.

This announcement follows MediaTek’s official introduction of the Dimensity 9400, signaling a significant hardware upgrade for Oppo’s flagship devices. In addition to the hardware boost, Oppo will also debut its latest software update, ColorOS 15, which is based on Android 15. ColorOS 15 is designed to enhance user experience through a three-layer interface structure, promising increased efficiency, fluidity, and superior overall performance.

ColorOS 15 Demonstration and Features

During the announcement, Oppo provided an on-stage demonstration of ColorOS 15, showcasing its ultra-smooth responsiveness and rapid performance. The new user interface will not be exclusive to the Find X8 series. It will also be available on the Chinese versions of the OnePlus 13, providing an enhanced experience across Oppo and OnePlus devices.

Find X8 Series and Foldable Plans

The Find X8 lineup will include the standard X8 and the X8 Pro, though the highly anticipated Find X8 Ultra is expected to be released later, likely in the first quarter of 2025. During the same period, Oppo is expected to unveil the Find N5, the successor to the Find N3, following the Chinese superstition that the number four is unlucky. It is speculated that the Find N5 could be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2.

Find X8 Ultra and Find N5 Cameras

The Find X8 Ultra is currently in testing with its advanced camera system, but it is unlikely to feature in the Find N5 foldable phone. The Find N5 is expected to stick with a traditional triple-camera setup, while the Find X8 Ultra will maintain its signature quad-camera array.
