Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced its readiness to resume flight operations to the United Kingdom, following the lifting of British air safety restrictions on Pakistani carriers.

Calling the development a “milestone for aviation safety,” PIA stated that the decision by the UK Air Safety Committee is a testament to the airline’s commitment to meeting global safety and operational standards. The national carrier revealed it is in the final stages of preparation and is currently finalizing its flight schedule for the UK route.

Initially, PIA plans to launch its UK operations with three weekly flights from Islamabad to Manchester, pending final approval of the proposed schedule.

“This positive decision is the outcome of strict adherence to international aviation safety protocols and the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan’s aviation authorities and the UK government,” the airline said in an official statement.

PIA also expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the Civil Aviation Authority, and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott for their significant contributions in facilitating this achievement.

The airline views this development as a crucial step toward restoring global connectivity and trust in Pakistan’s aviation sector.
