Following in the footsteps of Honor’s Magic V2 foldable, the Vivo X Fold 3 series is aiming for extreme thinness and lightness. Vivo claims that both devices will be even slimmer than the Vivo X5 Max from 2015, renowned for its status as one of the thinnest smartphones globally.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be the first foldable to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a chipset released only a few months ago and previously seen only in traditional flagship phones. Its non-Pro counterpart will incorporate a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead. Both models of the X Fold 3 lineup will sport 8.03-inch Samsung E7 AMOLED primary displays with 2K resolution, boasting peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. They will include dual ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, one embedded within the internal display and another on the 6.53-inch exterior screen. Camera enthusiasts will be pleased with the impressive capabilities of both devices, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope module, each equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and integrated with Vivo’s proprietary V3 imaging chip. These foldable phones will run on Origin OS 4 based on Android 14, optimized for folding screens. With a 5,500 mAh battery, paired with 120W super fast charging and 50W wireless charging, users can expect ample battery life.

Rumored pricing suggests that the regular X Fold 3 could be priced as low as $1113, potentially making it one of the most affordable book-style folding phones. The Pro model is expected to retail for $1391, at least in the Chinese market.
